As a cultural organisation which is working towards the socio cultural and tourism development and general welfare of Sierra Leone, AfroCult has been engaged in a great deal of cultural educational works through their African drumming and dancing workshops, in Belgium and Sierra Leone, and also entertainment performances. Their performance style is deeply rooted in the African traditional background with Sierra Leone in general and also other artistic forms to present a wide ranging repertoire. They are determined to ensure that Africans as a hole must preserves their cultural heritage and national identity.
WORKSHOPS: AfroCult also has been engaged in giving African cultural drumming and dancing workshops in Europe and Africa, to help preserving the mutual respect of each and every others culture, which is also one of the environmental foundation for Africans in collaboration with nature protection.
LEARN TO PLAY THE ART OF AFRICANS TRADITIONAL FOLK INSTRUMENTS: Which is about, learn to play various folk cultural instruments of your choice together with their historical meaning. It will be a very interesting moment while learning to play the art of African folk cultural instruments like, Eg, Djembe, Dunnoun, Knee Drum, Kelleng, the Shegureh which is mainly played by women, Balophone, the Bass Drum together with African dances originally choreographed by AfroCult & the Freedom Cultural Ambassadors.
FUTURE AIMS: Ever since they met, AfroCult and the FCA were determined to raise the standard of national tourism and cultural issues of Sierra Leone after the ten years of civil war.
We are now picking up our bits towards national rehabilitation in other to construct the PEOPLES INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL CENTER (P.I.C.C.) which will be located alongside the Freetown Peninsular highway and also encouraging those who will be interested in visiting Sierra Leone with AfroCult organising commitee in Belgium and the FCA in Sierra Leone. The P.I.C.C. will be self containing of a village educational primary school together with employees from the village who can also benefit by being village school teacher with self administration or by being employee in the P.I.C.C. complex for National Tourism and Cultural Affairs. The P.I.C.C. is also comprising of a village school for children which cannot be able to afford educational materials, a museum which will be dippicting the historical background of the two countries, vehicles which will provided for site seeing tours and to see more other national issues. This is also to raise the standard of national improvements for members of the public who will are concerned with national development after the last national destructions which can no longer repeat itself.
We are therefore requesting not only for cash but also such things as school educational materials, construction building materials, office equipment. Anything which will enable us supporting our constructional project, whatever it is how ever small will be greatly appreciated.
